About Me

Hi y'all, I am Emma Jean! Growing up in the land of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Cheerwine soda, North Carolina. I am senior in broadcasting school, with plans to work in country music radio. I am a free spirit, marching to the beat of my own drum and never quite fitting in anywhere. I love to knit,read, go to the movies, sew, cook and eat, anything geeky (especially recreating their clothing fashions) makeup and hair, really just anything where I can be creative!

Since I post about my life, here are some key peeps to keep an eye out for!

Daddy & Momma... Obviously my parental units

Jake.... First youngest brother, hardworking, no nonsense, dry sense of humor. Loves the outdoors and can be reckless. He is the blonde in the above picture

Fuzz... Second youngest brother, charming, goofy, huge smile and always laughing. Loves animals and very compassionate. He is the brunette in the picture 

Davina..... Blonde bestie from college. Athletic, driven, patient, intelligent, always looking at the positive and caring.

Veronica (Ronni).... Brunette bestie from high school. Blunt, strong willed, compassionate and smart. She is the living definition of a bookworm

Ty.... The boyfriend. Selfless, caring, brave, sweet, sarcastic, positive and hardworking. He is my Lion, spoils me and loves me for who I am. We met at work, where he was my boss. Both of us ended previous relationships at the same time when he handed me a pen with his number on it. After a week of non-stop texting and hanging out, we were dating. It's been an amazing journey with him and I cannot wait to see where we end up!

I got started in radio broadcasting in March of 2013 when I started interning at Beasley Broadcasting. So began my love of radio! I worked at a local station for a couple years before getting laid off. As of right now, I am working part-time saving money before I jump into another radio job!

I started blogging off and on since 2009. Over the years my blogs have changed and evolved as I have grown up. I chose the name "Sew Emma Jean" because I have been sewing since I was twelve and Emma Jean is my DJ/nickname. I blog about my life and things that interest me. You will see posts about movie and book reviews, food, outfit/manicure of the week and creative ramblings. I hope that in all of this, it inspires those who read my posts!

Hobbies: Sewing, knitting, reading, cooking, swimming and rock climbing
Sport: To watch, hockey or baseball. To do, rock climbing
  





Fun Facts:
I am allergic to chocolate
I love the beach
When I get stressed out, I clean
I am a cat lady (I have three!)
I write in pen only, I hate using pencils
If it glitters, glows in the dark or is leopard print, I automatically adore it 
I cannot sew or do anything creative without cleaning the work area 
I am constantly hungry....
